Who We Are
Protecting and growing
family wealth across generations
A family office, whether serving a single family or multiple families, needs accounting and tax advice that goes far beyond standard practice. Property assets, investment portfolios, business interests, international holdings and inter-generational wealth transfers all require specialist expertise working in harmony.
From Family Investment Company (FIC) design and Inheritance Tax planning to property portfolio management and succession strategy, we act as your trusted financial partner.
Tax Advice & Planning
Family Investment Companies: The Modern IHT Planning Tool
A Family Investment Company (FIC) is a UK private limited company whose shareholders are entirely family members typically established by older generations to protect assets and transfer wealth tax-efficiently to children and grandchildren. FICs pay Corporation Tax at 25% on income and gains (significantly lower than the 40–45% Income Tax rates facing high earners), and dividends received by the FIC are generally exempt from Corporation Tax.
Gifting shares in a FIC to children or grandchildren constitutes a Potentially Exempt Transfer for Inheritance Tax purposes meaning the value of the gift falls outside the donor’s estate for IHT purposes if they survive for seven years. We design and implement FIC structures that integrate seamlessly with your existing property portfolio and investment holdings.

Succession & Estate Planning
Succession planning in a changing IHT environment
The Autumn Budget 2024 introduced significant changes to the Inheritance Tax landscape. From April 2026, the 100% reliefs for Agricultural Property Relief and Business Property Relief are being capped at £1 million for assets qualifying for 100% relief — with a £2.5 million per individual allowance under the new rules. From April 2027, unused pension savings will be included in estates for IHT purposes, potentially reducing what can be passed to beneficiaries tax-free.
IHT threshold frozen at £325,000 until at least 2028 — more estates now taxable
Common Pain Points
The Unique Tax Challenges UK Family Offices Face
Family offices navigate a complex intersection of personal tax, corporate structures, property investment, and multi-generational planning, often without a single adviser who understands the complete picture.
Inheritance Tax Exposure on Growing Estates
The IHT nil-rate band has been frozen at £325,000 since 2009 and will remain frozen until at least 2028. Rising property values mean that more estates than ever face the 40% IHT charge yet many families have not reviewed their exposure since the 2024 Budget changes. Proactive planning is essential, and delay is costly.
Fragmented Advice Across Multiple Advisers
Many high net worth families work with multiple specialists, such as a personal tax accountant, solicitor, financial planner and property agent, who rarely communicate with each other. This fragmented approach leads to gaps and conflicts. We bring all these moving parts together, giving you coordinated, expert accounting support that protects your wealth and simplifies your decisions.
Complexity of Multi-Entity Property Structures
Family offices holding property across multiple companies, trusts, and LLPs face complex inter-entity accounting, group tax relief, and Inheritance Tax implications. Without coordinated management across all entities, tax efficiency is compromised.
Succession and Next-Generation Wealth Transfer
Transferring wealth to the next generation needs careful planning to avoid unnecessary tax charges. Lifetime gifts, trusts, FIC share transfers and property restructuring all have specific tax implications. We help you design and implement these plans so your wealth passes smoothly and tax-efficiently to your family.
Impact of Changing Legislation on Established Structures
Legislative changes frequently disrupt established planning strategies, requiring prompt restructuring to preserve their effectiveness. Families without proactive, specialist advisers are inevitably the last to respond and the first to face unexpected tax bills.

Ongoing management includes Corporation Tax returns, Companies House compliance, and dividend planning.
Inheritance Tax Planning & Estate Reviews
We conduct comprehensive IHT estate reviews, modelling current exposure and the impact of lifetime gifts, trust arrangements, and FIC share transfers. We advise on the use of nil-rate bands, residence nil-rate bands, annual exemptions, and Business Property Relief, producing a written succession plan with prioritised actions.
Property Portfolio Tax Management
We manage the complete tax affairs of family office property portfolios including Corporation Tax, ATED, SDLT, VAT, and Capital Gains Tax across multiple holding entities. Inter-entity loans, group relief claims, and annual property reviews ensure maximum efficiency across the entire portfolio.
Trust Accounting & Trustee Compliance
We prepare trust accounts and tax returns and advise on using discretionary and bare trusts for property and investment planning. We make sure your trust meets Trust Registration Service (TRS) requirements, which apply to most UK trusts, and explain the tax impact of payments made to beneficiaries.
Personal Tax Returns for Family Members
We prepare Self-Assessment tax returns for all family members covering property income, dividend income, capital gains, employment income, and overseas assets. A coordinated approach across all family members ensures that income is allocated optimally and allowances are fully utilised at every generation.
Consolidated Reporting & Family Office Governance
We produce consolidated financial reports across all entities, including companies, trusts and personal holdings, so your family has one clear view of net assets, income, tax liabilities and performance. We also advise on corporate governance, directors’ duties and Companies House obligations for all family entities.

FAQS
Common questions from UK Family Offices
What is a Family Investment Company and is it right for us?
A Family Investment Company (FIC) is a private limited company used to hold and manage family wealth, such as property, investments and cash. Its shareholders are family members, and the company pays Corporation Tax on income and gains at rates that are generally lower than personal Income Tax. We help you decide if an FIC is right for your family, set it up correctly and structure it to protect and grow your wealth across generations.
How much Inheritance Tax will my estate face?
IHT is charged at 40% on the part of your estate above your available allowances. The main nil-rate band is £325,000 per person, with an extra residence allowance in some cases when a home passes to direct descendants. Couples can often combine allowances so more can be passed on before IHT is due. With bands frozen and property values rising, more families are being caught by IHT, so we model your exposure and help you plan to reduce the tax your estate will face.
How do the 2024 Budget changes affect my family office?
What makes your accountants different from a standard private client or high street firm for family offices?
Our focus is on high net worth families and family offices, so we are used to dealing with multiple entities, cross‑generational planning and significant property wealth. You work with a dedicated senior accountant who knows your family structure in detail, produces consolidated reporting across all entities, and proactively flags risks and opportunities, rather than simply filing annual tax returns
How does your firm support UK family offices with complex tax and structuring needs?
We provide ongoing, joined‑up advice across your companies, trusts, Family Investment Companies and personal holdings, so your tax position and group structure are managed as one coherent picture rather than in isolation. We design and implement tax‑efficient structures, model IHT exposure, and coordinate with your other advisers to ensure decisions around property, investments and wealth transfer all align with your family’s long‑term objectives.
